Error: TCM - 2306 Open or Short Circuit in W Phase

Hello club, 

I've just had my cvt gearbox replaced on my 2017 Toyota Auris 1.8 Hybrid(182k miles) with a second hand one and after this error popped up: TCM -  2306 Open or Short Circuit in W Phase.

The car doesn't come out of Parking and doesn't get into Drive or Reverse Mode.

anyone encountered this and can help in the matter?

The mechanic said it might have something to do with software reprogramming. Did anyone had to do some software reprogramming/update after replacing a part? If yes what was the procedure and can it be resolved without getting the car to a Toyota service?
