I’m in the process of buying a 2019 Yaris 1.5 litre hybrid. Great car. Often rent them when going overseas in Europe and Japan..

I find the Japanese seat more comfortable! I will attach the photo although it’s cluttered with my stuff (sorry). The regular European one is in the second picture.

Two questions.

1) are the seats interchangeable?

2) how on Earth could I get the Japanese seat?

(I tend to get backache when driving and that Japanese one was the best for me - it’s all very individual of course)

I’ve tried every version of every Yaris in the UK over the last few years and so this 2019 model is the best I can get for my needs. The icing on the cake would be the Japanese seat :)

Correction the Japanese picture is from 2023

One of my gripes with any current seats - they’re over bolstered.  It seems to be a fashion accessory in Europe.  It will almost certainly have the same hole centres as the Jap seat but where you’d get one without spending a fortune in shipping is anybody’s guess.

Yes that’s the problem. The bolstering, or as one might describe the wings pushing thighs to rotate inwards (back also to some extent) are why I get a back ache in modern European car seats.

So that's a MK4 and yours is a MK3. A MK4 may well not fit and the connections for airbags, etc, might be different too.

But anyway, as anchorman says, where would you get one except from abroad?
