2021 RAV4 Hybrid - Hard to Shift from D to P While Charging

Hello everyone,

I bought a new 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, and I’ve been experiencing an issue with the gear lever. When the engine is charging the hybrid Battery (not in EV mode), shifting from D (Drive) to P (Park) is very hard and feels like something is going to break. However, when the car is in EV mode or not charging the Battery, the shift is smooth with no resistance.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any insights on what might be causing it? I’d appreciate any advice or solutions, the dealership was not able to identify the issue.

Never had this problem in my ‘21 PHEV.
