Avensis epb fault warning

Recently bought a 2010 1.8 petrol avensis estate. Apparently the epb module was replaced, with by the look of it a secondhand one. After having it scanned the code c1203 comes up but can't be erased due to incompatible part. Can the module be re written to be accepted to the car? Any info gladly accepted. Thank you.

As far as I know, reprogramming is a task for a Toyota dealer. I am not sure they will do it on a non-original part; I mean, why would they?

I developed module for c1203 mismatch fix. Information are hardcoded into the EPB unit and Toyota dealer is not able to change it.

A capable auto electrician should be able to do it but it will be costly. They need to remove it from the car, crack the sealed unit open. Program the eprom and seal it back up again and replace it back in the car.

My compatibility module costs 200eur at this moment and installation can be done within 15 minutes without any special tools or knowledge needed. Moreover module can be reset and used again in case another EPB replacement will be necessary in future.

It is possible to reslafh eeprom but as you said it very complicated and also risky because unit need to be cracked and properly sealed back then.
