GRJ76 - To buy or not to buy...

Hi,

I want to build an overlanding vehicle. We plan to do a trip through North America and to Central Asia in the next years.

While looking for Defender alternatives I came across a great 76 2015 Japan import (30th year anniversary) with only 65k miles, selling here in the UK NI.

Car looks solid, only one owner, with clean service history. Besides a few minor rust spots, the car looks rock solid (see pictures attached).

I am looking now for some more sophisticated opinions around the car - preferably from someone who owns one of those, or someone who has a Japanese import.

Only downside I came across so far is:

- Fuel economy

- Owner changed the clutch recently. What could be the reason for that ?

- Trying to figure out what the insurance cost for such a car is. I am afraid that this gonna be completey unreasonable, in particular because I have never owned a car in the UK as I just moved recently (EU Driver Licence)

- Car is currently from NI with an NIMOT but I dont think this matters.

- Also, in a couple of years, I potentially want to bring that car to Germany, so that hopefully shouldnt be a problem.

Thanks!
