Hi Folks,

This evening while car was running on cruse control, suddenly message displayed "System stopped refer to manual". After that cruse control not worked at all.

Checked manual and no information about it, just said malfunction and follow display instructions.

Has anyone faced this issue before?

I had this issue in March this year. I was returning home on a 300+ mile journey when about 2 hours into the journey I lost my cruise control, can’t remember the exact message but I suspect it was similar to yours. After about 1 1/2 hours I was able to get cruise control again and no more issues for the rest of the journey. The only reason I can think of why this happened is because at the time it was raining and I wondered if the camera on the front off the car became dirty from the road spray which stopped the cruise control from working and then the rain eventually cleaned the camera allowing the cruise control to start working again. I now clean the front camera if I am going on a long journey.

I had the exact same problem with my RAV4. It is because of the heavy rain. The car loses sight of the road, so it disables cruise control and some safety functions.

Safety rule is not to use any cruise control when weather conditions aren’t ideal, particularly heavy rain, snow or ice on the road. It’s not just visibility for the car but something that cars auto drives systems not ready yet , water on the road and risk of aquaplaning., lost of control and a serious accidents.

I'd think it's the same as already been suggested. The cruise control disabled itself due to weather conditions causing it to not have full visibility and confidence in the data it was receiving. So it failed safe.

Cruise control is just that, it's not supposed to replace you paying attention to the road

I agree.

you notice sometime in cold weather if you have not defrosted the windscreen properly round about where the camera is it will come up with the wording that it can not operate

i had it in snow as well (not on cruise ) another thing i have noticed the headlights are on in very sunny weather (this time of year) when the sun is low but i have noticed it on different makes and models ive had over the years that has automatic lights
