Parking Problems

Is anyone like me when parking, I cannot see the front of the bonnet and I park thinking I am close but when I get out I have 3 to 4 feet space at the front. I don't trust the sensors 100% and they could be switched off . I was thinking of the old cars that had a retractable rod like the old electric aerial at the front

I've learned to trust the parking sensors and the auto brake (if you have it). I always check whenever I change such that I will stop when they first activate, get out and check or have someone watching. That way I get a good idea of what space I really have. Modern cars do have high bonnet and rear lines where older cars I could parallel park in the smallest of spaces in town traffic without issues (many many moons ago)

I keep my car in a garage. I don't need sensors to tell me where the edges are 😁

The sensors work very well in my Corolla. The emergency brake system activated when I approached a bush, both in forward and reverse. I was in no danger of causing damage but the system thought otherwise.
