Highest range number

Just for laughs.. What's highest range anybody has seen

Google says it is approximately 688 miles.

470 on mine is the highest, due to mainly driving motorway journeys.

I never pay any attention to it until the fuel light comes on, but I've achieved well over 500 on a tank during summer conditions. Most of the mileage made up of motorway runs at a steady, constant speed, with a few short trips across town in-between. I'm in a pre-facelift 2.0, so I'm sure even more would be possible with a 1.8 and/or the latest gen.

Between 400 and 450 is much more typical, to be honest.

Mine (pre facelift 2.0 TS) has said 495 or so a few times.  Just wont top a range of 500.   I suspect a 1.8 would beat this.

But I think it all depends upon average mpg at the time which (I reckon) depends upon ambient temperature and driving style.

My "target" is to get 100 miles from £10 of fuel.  When I say target, I dont actually strive to achieve, I just measure.  The Corolla is the 1st car to get near that for very many years.

I'm sure somebody will manage to engineer a ridiculously high reading somehow!

Mine usually starts out at around 550 miles. I've never tested to see how far it'll actually go because that seems a pretty silly thing to do. I usually fill up at the first opportunity after the gauge drops below half. I typically get between 20 or 30 litres in. The mileage varies from mid 50s (mpg) winter to mid 60s summer.

And I do exactly the same with my Auris and I am getting similar ranges and mpg.

It says I have a range of over 600 miles, but I have found in reality its more like 500.
