Mysterious "Speed Limiter Mode" message

Hi, I have a new Toyota Corolla "touring sports" ( = estate) Design trim, 2 litre engine.

Can anyone tell me what the message "Speed Limiter Mode" means? It suddenly appeared in the centre of the dash - see screenshot - when I was parked up and nothing I did would shift it.  It sounds like it relates to the cruise control but I have never knowingly set or used that and the small white icon to the right of the "P" gear indicator shows that cruise control is turned off (the fact that it is white means that, as I understand things).   I've looked in the manual but the phrase "speed limiter mode" does not occur anywhere.

Any clues?

Modern cars...too clever for their own good. Too clever for MY own good anyway.

You can switch between ACC, regular CC and speed limiter mode on the steering wheel located on the right side, left to the Cancel button, named "mode" with a little speedo dial looking icon on top of it.

The way you can switch between modes on the facelift is much better that the old way.

I have a similar display set up on mine - the ‘speed limiter mode’ is saying that’s what’s been selected but isn’t active yet. Likely you may have pressed one of the buttons on the right hand side of the steering wheel. 
 

it’s not the cleanest of displays having a big message on the screen all the time you aren’t using it. When you activate the system it goes away and the display underneath it shows you what the car is detecting around it.

So the button I must have accidentally nudged is the "Mode" one on the right hand side of the wheel...I do recall seeing that. I am away from my car right now but first chance tomorrow I will play with that. Thank you all!
