Reverse sensor not beeping

Hi everyone,

I just got a toyota yaris hybrid  2017 model for a few days now and just found out that the  reverse sensor is not beeping. I do not ha e a user manual to look at.please can anybody help me how to check if something is wrong. This is my first hybrid automatic car.

Depending on model, not all of them had reverse sensors, my 22 Yaris didn't for example.

May be a stupid question, have you checked that you have them? Look at the rear bumper to see.  I was surprised my Yaris didn't have them as standard.

If they were a dealer fit option when fitted, there may be a small on/off button switch mounted on the boot lining which may have been turned off. Often on the same side as the reversing light. Have a look in the boot.

Is reverse light working? If not the switch operated by the gear lever might have failed (this would affect both the sensors and reverse light operation)
