I have some problems with the lights on my Prius G4.

1. The first one is the auto headbeam function. When driving on the countryside in the night and there are some minor light like street lights the high beam turns on prefectly and turns off to low beam itself if I meet another car as it should but if it is completely dark the high beam never goes on, it stays with the low beam on. Sensor on windshield is cleaned. It's all LED. If I turn off the auto-function I can turn the high beam on and off manually with the stick.

2. Neither of the interior lights goes on when a door is opened but the lights can be turned on manually. There is a switch on both lights but it doesn't matter what position it has regarding this. It's the same for all of the doors.

I'm clueless of both of these failures...

I replaced my phev around 3 years ago, so this is a bit AFAIR.

However, the auto headlights were about the worst things on an otherwise great car.

The on and off speeds were far too high for country road driving. I think they came on at just over 40 mph, and off at just over 30, so completely useless except for main road driving, where they were quite good.

My current e-Niro doesn't have the matrix lights, but the on-off speeds are about 10mph lower, which makes them much more effective.

OK, so you're saying that this system (AHS) kicks in at a specific speed? I have read the manual and it does not say anything about that! My girlfriend has a Honda with the same feature and it works from 0 km/h.

That's how I remember it working. It was fine on main roads, rubbish on country roads. I always switched to manual dip on those.

If you go back a few years, you will find plenty of posts about it. I'm sure some will be mine.

Toyota GB have a track record of weird  decisions.

This is from the manual, hope it helps.

Anyone has any idea why my interior lights not goes on when I open a door?

That sounds like Toyota has actually listened and dropped the speeds by around 10 mph. Does anyone know when it was changed?

My village is unlit, and driving through it at night was impossible on auto lights, because 30 mph was never enough to switch the lights on. Without street lights. It was impossible to see far enough at that speed

Suddenly I've found out why the interior lights were not working.

There is an option in the touch panel: Settings -> Vehicle -> Lights : Delay of interior lights. It can be set to 7.5, 15, 30 sec or Off.
If you set it to Off it won't light up at all! Stupid, very confusing and the users manual doesn't say anything about this!

In my opinion Off should mean "No delay".

Yes that's what I get with mine, I had a look in the full electronic manual on the Toyota UK website (lot more detail than the paper manual) and it goes into a lot of detail on how it works - full beams come on around 37mph and then go off at around 25mph. Doesn't look like there's any options to change that, it's not a user config item.

If you haven't got the full electronic manual then it's worth downloading a copy and there's some config options and other stuff not included in the shortened paper manual.
