Car sluggish after Flooring it on a hill start

Hi guys, New driver here.

Context: I was driving around greater london where i came to a traffic light on a steep overpass. I stopped, attempted a hill start, stalled (My clutch was almost burnt out anyway) and then went and floored it to ensure i had enough revs to get up the hill. I successfully floored it and was able to make the green light, however ever since then my car feels like it is struggling with power

Symptoms:

  • Having to change gear earlier than before to get up to a higher speed
  • Struggling with acceleration uphill
  • Feels like less power in each gear
  • Sluggish

My Yaris dashboard has that little up arrow on the bottom left of the dial to tell me to upshift, and it tells me to upshift a lot sooner it feels. in terms of the sluggishness it takes really long to accelerate and get up to speed compared to before.

I thought I burnt out the clutch so I got a new one but the issue is still there.

I have taken it to a mechanic and they cant really diagnose the issue by driving it.

If anyone has any ideas what the problem is that would be super helpful.

Many thanks

Petrol or diesel and turbo or not?

I had very similar with a turbo diesel where a boost hose split.
