Will a full size spare fit where the gunge lives please?

Hi, yes it will, I have one. You obviously won't be able to put the floor panel in the lower position but that is it.

I was thinking of getting a spare tyre and wheel from a scrap yard as our Rav just came with a puncture repair kit

You can buy the screw with a big plastic head from Toyota to hold the spare down,under £7.00.You will need a 2 ton scissor jack( with sill fitting) plus a wheel brace. Look on eBay for most of the above.

The big issue is the cast polystyrene Shell that all of the above sits in. This in turn fits into the spare wheel. I made mine out of kingspan insulation ie 2 pieces stuck together then carved out to take the jack ect. Depends how much of a DIY er you are! Mine is still good 4 years nearly on. Alternatively you may find one in a scrap yard.
