I recently bought a RAV4 Dynamic. I successfully connected my Samsung mobile phone but am having problems with the volume. Sometimes the call recipient cannot hear me or I cannot hear them. Have tried changing all the volume controls but no success. Any suggestions?

Not seen that one. When you say connected your phone, do you mean via bluetooth or via USB?

Connected via bluetooth.  Everything works except the volume.

I think you may need to set the bluetooth volume on your phone before the connection is made. Is it an old Samsung phone?

I seem to recall the car volume controls can only adjust bluetooth volume up to a maximum which is whatever the phone is set to on the bluetooth volume settings.

Yeah my Samsung is like this. Just tried it and adjusted the volume on phone and up it went.

Thank you for your help. I have now established it is something to do with my phone volume controls, not the car

I'm guessing this isn't the same issue but the Corolla has an auto mute function for the media player / radio which allows you to take/make a call / message without manually lowering the volume. This is a known issue on the RAV4 and is widely reported in the US forums. Took me a while to get used to this annoyance. I hope a future software update will fix.
