Auris 2011 E150 - interior door handle does not work

Auris 2011 - interior door handle (front right side) does not open the door. Exterior door handle works fine.

I have removed the door trim and checked the cable from the door handle and it is fine. So, it looks like something has broke on the door lock itself.

Is this a common issue with these cars?

Are there any guides how to access the door lock?

Hello This is the first time I've heard of this problem. It must have been pushed too hard so it broke a piece of the inside of the lock, remove it and take a close look at what has happened

Door looks on most Toyota are accessible from inside and you will need to remove the door card.  There are many clips on the door card and screws behind the door handle.
