Thinking about an Aygo with a full length canvas roof?

I have wanted a slightly older 'fun car' for a while. It doesn't need high performance as I've got that base covered with my Yaris GR Circuit Pack, it doesn't need to be a practical daily as I have that one covered too with my Corolla Hybrid.

It's a car that I will look to service and maintain myself so far as possible to keep costs in check (the Yaris goes to a specialist in Stratford-on-Avon and the Corolla to my local dealer-both under warranty etc.)

I've had numerous MX5's over about the last 20 years and wont rule out another at some point. I have also owned a Mk2 Aygo in the past and so are fairly familiar with the basics just not the opening roof.

I am looking at Aygo's with the full length canvas roof (not the Aygo X as that will be out of budget).

Does anyone on here have any experience of these, particularly weathertightness and noise-although I am not too bothered about the latter.

Thanks

😅

Hi David,

Give people time to answer, as many are at work and probably they can't get on the forum at any given time. 😊

I found usually on forum, post your question and wait, it could take a day or two before someone with the issue or knowledge will answer

From memory, don't remember anyone mentioning water leaks from canvas roof over the years, usually on the Mk2, it the common water sloshing in the rear tailgate due to 3rd brake light letting water in.

Whether it any help, there is a Citroen C1 Mk2 5 door with canvas roof few roads down from us, and it an early Mk2 so they had it good few years and looked out for it today, so they still have it. I would assume if they had issues/problems they would of got rid ages ago, with canvas roof and pop out windows being big risk leak spots (although Mk2 pop out windows also seem trouble free unlike the Mk1) and if they have the 1.2 PSA engine as well, another reason to get rid, but it still sitting on their drive!
