Engine Charging Message on Aygo X

Hi all! I'm a new driver and new owner of an Aygo X and I'm a bit puzzled by a message that occasionally pops up on my display saying 'engine charging' when applying my brakes. I didn't think Aygo X had regenerative brakes? Is this right and why is it coming up?

Many thanks!

Amanda

It’s a message to indicate that the car has decided to prioritise Battery charging over shutting down for the stop/start function.

Thank you so much. Would there be a particular reason why this happens? I've had the air con on the last few mornings to demist, would that be the reason?

Thank you! That's helpful. I'm not sure I've ever noticed the start stop function kick in! It was noticeable on the golf I Iearned in. I'll have to do a bit of reading up!
