Another avensis EPB question

Hi,

I have a 2010 estate avensis and the EPB is gone in it. The usual warning EPB lights showing up and nothing at all from EPB when I press it.

Mechanic has plugged it in to confirm and the fault is EPB related.

I've also been quoted E2300 incl vat for the part which is crazy. The required part number is ending in - 012 as Toyota have confirmed but aI can source used ones ending in -010 and -011. The local Toyota garage have agreed to program it in if I get the right part and have it fitted by my own mechanic.

Has anyone put a - 010 or - 011 in when the latest available part number is - 012?

The parts guy in Toyota said my car likely has a 10/11 in it and the 12 probably replaced it but wouldn't confirm if they would work.

Lastly, does anyone know if these would be cheaper new in Northern Ireland? I'm based in Ireland.

Thanks

they were under £1000 for an actuator (at one point significantly under). I assume that it is an actuator that we are talking about as that is the normal part that fails (normally due to water ingress). https://toyotadirectparts.co.uk/parts/toyota-avensis/toyota-avensis-2008-2018-parking-brake-actuator/

have you inspected your callipers? a stiff calliper can cause issues in mine and many others experience, could be a 60 euro fix
