7th Gen' Celica hard ride

As all will know Celica's developed by Toyota on Japan',s perfectly smooth road system are not best served being driven on UK's Pot ridden, badly maintained roads. Consequently my gen 7 2001 aged unfettled pride bangs about like a tin can in a school yard footie game. My "fix" could be to upgrade the suspension somewhat. Anyone out there give me some advice and point me in the right direction. TA MUCHLY JHF

You probably just need to renew the standard factory fitted shocks. You might possibly still have the originals fitted, so they will have come to the end of their life after 23 years. KYB (Kayaba) are original fitment. Adding some Eibach springs will finish the job and give you better handling because they are slightly shorter than the standard springs.

@Scarlett Arrow  will hopefully point you in the right direction as he has more knowledge regarding the 7th Generation Celicas.

Yes, new KYB shocks will definately help. Not sure about the Eibach Pro Kit springs though. They are the best springs if looking to lower the car (they're a 30mm drop) and improve handling, but the ride will be on the harsh side with the Eibachs fitted.

What wheels and tyres do you have on there? OEM wheels with modern tyres should also help give you a decent ride.

Thanks for the gen. When I got the car it had been stored in a garage for 6yrs and had been well cared for such that there was zero play in steering but someone had resprayed it with damp in he air so it was begining to look in a bad state body wise, pimples everywhere. I've resprayed using 2pack cuz I didn't think the 7th gen was well thought of and a quote for £2.2K didn't seem value for money. Quoted below £1000 in car  value this year but I understand the 7th gen in red 127K miles are gaining in  value??????

I had a 6th gen but sold when engine dump it's  crank, should have kept it bu##er. Regards JHF
