Gen 2 PIP - free tracker from Mr T

Been a while since posting but just dropped my 2017 plugin prius into MrT for an MOT and been told it qualifies for a free tracker installation and 3 year subscription.

They are going to give me more information after the MOT when i get the car back...

Hi Alan,

I’ve got a 2016 Prius Excel. Do you know if it’s just the plugin Prius or is the standard hybrid version I have, also included? Please keep us posted.

I did a search about it and there is a similar post in the C-HR forum.

MrT said it was being offered across many Toyota models and mine was included.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I’ve just done a search on the net & there is some information from Toyota about upgrading car security but to check if my car is included I need to contact my dealer. I’ve just done that but they have said that nothing is showing up for my Prius.

They are however looking into it & are going to contact me if there is a complimentary security upgrade available. If I don’t hear from them I shall probably double check with another Toyota garage. Thanks again for your reply & please keep us posted,

After the MOT I got a bit more info. MrT said it was a recall and letters would be going out to owners who were able to have the free tracker fitted. My dealer had some slots available and was offering to do it before the letters went out.

Thanks again for that info. Just had a call from my Toyota garage & they’ve told me that my Prius isn’t included! I find it strange that yours is but it might be because it’s a plug in or perhaps it’s because mines a year older.
 

However, the info. you’ve given me means that if they do include my Prius they will contact me anyway.
