Saw this on the Mazda site.

My Fitcamx used a similar splice as does my door auto locking module.

Oooh that's neat; I'm not sure where the box would go as it doesn't look like it'd fit in the headlining, but that would certainly be a cleaner install than the current use-a-piggyback-fuse-and-leave-the-fuse-lid-dangling approach the dealers currently use

? Dome Light Fitting ?

Also found this (few models to choose from) - it MAY fit inside the headlining and power from the dome light.  When it stops chucking it down I will pull the dome light and see what the connector looks like . . . unless @Anchorman has a clear pic already?

Beauty of this (if it fits) would be easy wiring for a rear dome light - just need to tap into the correct cable in the loop.

Dipping Mirror - 5 pin plug, 2 wires connected

Dome Light - 16 pin plug, 8 wires connected

I'll investigate further...

The YC has a fair bit of room, I dropped the interior light unit (came out easily!) and it's quite roomy up there.

I can't find a pin-out of the light unit anywhere, anyone got any ideas or a link?

Yes thanks !

No need to as the new ones have got a proper light at the back.  Without a pan roof that is.  It was to show you the plug and the light.

Hi. I have a 2019/20 Y20 and have just bought a VIOFO A229 dash cam. Will any of these kits allow me to power it from the courtesy light instead of the 12V accessory socket so I can still charge my phone? Any help appreciated thanks!

I would contact them via their support page on the above link as it would suggest on the web that it connects to the 16 pin connector for the adaptive cruise control sensor, not the dome light.

I have ordered the 16 pin version and will report back. It is now £30 with free postage from China so may be a few weeks before I see it.  A small gamble to see if it would be useful for others. If nothing else the 16 pin plug / socket lead is worth it to tap for extra lights. Can't buy the parts and wire for that price 😵‍💫😂
