you don't have to take the disc off, just take the wheel off and put a piece of string round the cirumference this will give you a good error margin for the disc diameter.

James, please check my measurements, I got them out the ferodo catalogue and checked them against the EBC and they match up. However the stuff from tercelonline appears to be bigger.

have a nice day

there are 2 different sized rotors on the paseo. it depends on your year.

92-94 paseos had 9.94 inches

95+ were the same size as the tercels(9.3 inches).

the tercels had a minor change in 95'.

i dont know what it was,but i found this out while investigating.

it seems toyota stuck with the 9.3 inches on the tercel in 91-94, then in 95+ the part number changed. then in 96+ it seems they changed the part number again. the 95+ paseo had the same part # as the 96+ tercels(i was told this rotor has the same diameter as the 91-94tercel[9.3 inches], but i think the change in part #'s is because maybe the material of the rotor changed. )

Now going to the paseo side. the 92-94 paseo(Gen1) had the much larger 9.94 inches, but it changed from 95' and on to the smaller 9.3 inches. many people say the rotor change was because the orignal rotors from the paseo were great for stopping, but after a while, a few people had cases of them getting hot and sometimes the rotors would obtain a small crack. a few others would notice how they warped under extreme load and "abuse". so i think toyota reverted back to the tercel rotor because there wasn't a problem. I think the same happened with the 95 tercels. 95 was the only year they had that certain part#, then they stopped using it in 96 and on.Many starlet owners switch to the corolla rotors( you need the calipers, mounting brackets, & rotors. for the paseo rotor swap you just need the rotors, & mounting brackets for the caliper...no paseo caliper is needed.) because they got tired of the paseo rotors cracking and warping opn them becuase of hardcore racing. The paseo caliper and the tercel caliper look alike but the part #'s are different too.(92-94 paseo that is...dont know about95+paseo's) the only extremely minor difference i saw,was that the paseo caliper had a smaller clamping space by about 1-3mm. it was soo small i don't even think it played a role.

all this info was obtained at a brake warehouse, while i was looking to upgrade my braking system. I haven't had a chance to go to toyota and compare all the part #'s in the same fashion yet. the info about the corolla rotor changed was obtainde from the toyota technician @ back yard productions.

heres the part #'s chage in a nutshell:

91-94 tercel(Gen1)-part #A(9.3inch_______________________92-94 paseo(Gen1)-part #X(9.94 inch)

95 tercel(Gen2)-part #C(?? 9.3inch??)

96+ tercel(Gen2)-part #B(9.3inch)_______________________95-99 paseo(Gen 2)-part #B(9.3inch)
