Arm rest for 4.5gen RAV?

Finding the arm rest in the door a little hard and low in height. Thinking about boosting it up by an inch or more with a softer material. Noticeable on long drives.

Had an issue with my left knee on the hard overly wide central console but fixed it with a stick on spongy leather pad shaped exactly for that area on the RAV.

Had a quick look but can't find anything.

Anyone got something here or is it not an issue for you?

Morning  Nick, I'd be interested in where you got the knee pad from and also if you find a solution to the armrest problem.

If you simply search ‘car elbow rest pad’ there will be countless options. I do agree the door armrest is hard and for me a bit low too. I have a long drive next weekend so may order something to try out. Never had the knee rest issue many complain about though.

The left knee pad came from Ali express who did a RHD version. Whereas Amazon were only listing LHD pads imported from the USA. That was 3 years ago so still worth checking Amazon again.

This is it but for LHD. It's not quite symmetrical from memory so LHD and RHD are different. You could probably still make it work but I wanted a perfect alignment.

I've seen a few but nothing close on the ideal size. Wondered if there was a really good fit one that someone had bought.

Yeh the left knee on the hard console was a problem for me. 6ft3. Legs long. Seat as far back as possible whilst still have good hands on the wheel. Left leg bent and resting on hard console. Pad made a huge difference.

Top tip. 

Just measured the door arm rest. Because of the curve up towards the door the flat area is only 6cm wide and about 20cm long. Most arm rest pads or cushions are much wider than this so just searching for one with a good fit.

Fact of life I'm afraid as most stuff comes from China these days. I use my credit card and find them easy and reliable to deal with. Had a few €5's back because they missed the projected delivery date.

Agree, I am very reluctant to buy from Chinese retailers even if much of what we buy is made in China.

I don't have much option here, no eBay, only Amazon DE. (Germany) who doesn't like to send to Greece. The same is at least double the price if it comes through a Greek retailer and the fore is more honourable trader than the latter.
