Toyota Celica 1.8 1995, parking brake defect

Hi guys, I just bought a 1995 Toyota Celica 1.8.  I've restored it but I still have a problem that I haven't been able to solve yet: the right rear wheel makes a noise like a hammer blow that increases in frequency as the wheel speed increases.  After many attempts, my mechanic said it might be the parking brake of the right rear wheel that has a defect.  Has anyone experienced this before or have any idea what it could be and how to fix it?

Get your mechanic to check all the parts in the diagram, below.

I've searched the other forum (celica-club.co.uk) and the most common rear brake noise is due to a sticking handbrake cable or a broken or missing brake shoe retaining pin - part number: 47447G in the diagram - there should be two of these on each backing plate.

Let us know if you find the problem, it will help others in the future.
