The following was copied from the LBX forum on 12 volt battery.

" I learned from a local Toyota dealer that the Toyota Yaris Cross (which has a similar/equal hybrid setup) had similar problems until Toyota released a software fix and used a new battery type. I don't know if this is different form the current LBX battery setup."

No one on this forum has mentioned it so I wonder if it is correct.

The Battery in my new YC is white rather than the black one in my old Yaris, however no labels are visible.

I think that's by design - IIRC the car can detect which door you're near, and won't unlock the other doors unless you unlock the one you're near; I assume it's to stop someone breaking into the car and stealing a handbag or something while you're on the other side of the car chatting to someone or walking away.

Yes. This is from my MK3 owner's manual - I expect the MK4 will be the same.

For security as you say.

It does amaze me how many people are still remote unlocking their car while still 50 feet away. Invitation to opportunist thieves.

Actually white or more a light grey? Dead ringer for a Yuasa if it's light grey, but if it's Budget Icecream Tub Plastic White than I have no clue!

But Mutlu is light grey on the sides (black top), isn't it?

And by Mutlu I mean

Maybe you're getting RHD batteries 😄

There you go, two of them, one from Y4 and one from YC

I must admit I don't care enough to go outside and open my car to look (Also it's dark and raining, what a shock for the UK!   ), but maybe the black ones are the old ones that have tarnished Toyota's reliability, whereas those are the new hopefully more reliable ones?

That semi-see-thru white plastic is a sign of penny-level cost-cutting though...!

You’d have to lift the back or take the panel off in the rear footwell and that’s my job.  I thought of you when I pulled my mate’s brand new S Cross to bits the other day.

You do not disable the keyless entry but disable the fob this way. The car doesn't know that. It will save the battery in the fob, won't change anything for the car. To disable keyless entry you do that:

but it doesn't work for 9" (and potentially larger screens) because there is no such option.

Not a clue all I know is I disable from the fob and my keyless entry on my car doesn’t work until I press any of the fob buttons which reactivate it. I don’t do it for Battery saving purposes but for theft on the drive purposes. I’ve never had any problems with none starts caused by  a discharged Battery even though the car is used as a second car. It’s fitted with a banner 43ah Battery even though

Correct, but as I said, this is just switching the key off. Works good for your requirements 🙂 but for the Battery saving it won't help (unless someone is constantly walking near the car with a key in his pocket)
