Auto Gearbox Oil/fluid for 1996 2.2 diesel Estima

Hi All

Dose anybody know which Auto transmission fluid to use with a 1996 2.2 diesel Estima?

According to Wikipedia the gearbox

could be one of these two

4-speed automatic A46DF (AWD), A46DE (RWD)
4-speed automatic A340F (S/C AWD), A340E (S/C RWD)

I don't know which one mine is or how to find out! Any info would be great, the car lost all drive at some traffic lights had to turn it off and restart then it worked again, thinking it might need gearbox oil?

I answered your question but I will triple-check it

the estima are both 2.4 petrol

a 2.2 diesel makes your car an Estima Lucida / Emina CXR10 or CXR20

It's a Toyota A series auto (Aisin-Warner) - A43DE, A43DF, A45DE, A45DF, A46DE, A46DF if it ends in an F it's 4WD

 

if you reference any of those boxes they all show Toyota ATF D-II (DEXRON IID)

 

your gearbox is a 35000-28551 (Aisin 03-72LE)
