Long delays. Lock, Unlock, Status check... My Toyota App

Trying to establish what's normal. 

Seems to take about 15 to 40 seconds to remote lock, unlock, check status of Battery, fuel, doors and windows, or to start the preconditioning. 3 out 4 times it works but 1 in 4 it doesn't.

I'm surprised because on my last RAV4 PHEV (2021) the preconditioning and status checks happened within about 3 to 10 seconds. But now with the GRS R4P it has gone to rats.

Unrelated to mobile signal at the DCM or at home. Signals are strong. 

I'm assuming it's some Toyota server shannigans?

I would suggest that that is probably the case? Perhaps Toyota underestimated the power and connectivity required for them to cope with the increasing numbers of cars coming online as each new model range gets connected to Toyota Smart Connect by default?
