Traveling in Europe - LED light converter

I'm planning to drive to my parents in France for the festive period in my 2021 TS Excel. The Internet seems to be all over the place as to whether adapters are needed with the LED headlights as they apparently have a flat beam - whatever that means.

Does anyone have a firm answer?

The general advice is shine it at a wall and see if the beam kicks up noticeably at the left side; If it does you need a beam deflector, if it doesn't you probably don't.

Basically if you can stand in front of your car where an oncoming car would be and not go aargh my eyes! I'm blind! then you're probably okay

Generally reflector lamps do but projectors and matrix don't.

However my Mk4 Yaris has LED reflectors but they've been set up to have a flat beam cutoff so I could get away without deflectors, so YMMV as the saying goes.

I don’t think anyone bothers to put sticks on a later models. , nor police will bother to stop. Modern headlights are way complex these days and stokers might not do anything at all. Car tech way ahead of infrastructure and highways codes/laws. Those are the one needs adjusting ⚠️😅👍
