Hi All. I have my 2007 Estima Aeras and have noticed my reverse camera seemed turned dark or dim. I initially thought that the lense was just dirty and wiped it but it did not change and it has been like that for weeks.

Is there a setting in the Head Unit for this? I tried checking but could not find it - I have the Panasonic Surround Sound unit.

Has someone experienced the same? How did you resolve it? Thanks in advance!

Hi Mon,As you have already cleaned the lens, it’s worth double checking for any condensation that might have formed inside the camera housing. Sometimes, a bit of moisture or even minor scratches can cause that dim or foggy look.See if there’s a brightness or display setting hidden in the head unit’s menu these options can sometimes be under "Picture" or "Display" but can be a bit difficult to find. If you’re not sure, look up your model number in your manual if you have one or search online.

Check the wiring. A dim display can sometimes be caused by a loose or corroded connection. If possible, take a look at the connections near the camera itself and also behind the head unit to make sure there are no loose connections.

As the camera is older, it might just be losing brightness with age, and replacing it could be the the only way to resolve this problem. A replacement camera should be a reasonable cost for your model.👍

Thanks Bob! 🙂I will try to do the things you have suggested... hopefully one of it works. Worst-case scenario, I need to get a replacement unit for my camera! 😅
