The Aygo drives well, with the Exclusive you get LED lights that are fantastic so still fun to drive on country roads at night when avoiding the roadworks on the main roads.  Single track roads with passing places don't need anymore power, but positive steering, small size and a brilliant gearbox make it such fun.

Thanks Kental, good to know.

Playing devils advocate, before September we had a 2022 1.8 Corolla & a 2021 Yaris mk 4. The Yaris was more fun than the Corolla

Now having an Aygo X and a Yaris Cross 130 ps.

If it wasn't for monetary reasons, we would have kept the Yaris and exchanged the Corolla for the Yaris Cross.

An annual main dealer service will keep your Yaris warrantied for major issues until it is 10 years old even if it hasn't had a full Toyota history prior

Our daughter has a 2016 Pug 108 1.0 which is a fun drive, but I can't get on with the clutch.

I did struggle slightly with the clutch at first pulling away. I either nearly stalled or went like a getaway car. Must have a very lightweight flywheel. Still getting used to it but its not a showstopper.

I have no issues with the Aygo X, it was the previous generation I have an issue with

Hello all who replied to my topic.

Thank you for taking the trouble to help. I picked up my new red Edge yesterday. Right then, added to the potential clutch problem, was the dread of having to first negotiate the manic York ring road roundabouts in an unfamiliar manual car 😬. I didn't want to go through the city as I was told there would be a big Rememberance parade going on. Oh god, I got quite anxious about losing the oomph of the Yaris instant torque. Anyway, little car made it out of the city unscathed and I escaped with my sanity intact 😂.  After driving 50ish miles home, the only negative was the noise levels and not just the from razzy engine either. Nothing is perfect, but It did redeem itself by negotiating the inclines ok, doing a wee bit of zooming on the Malton by-passes and generally chugging along nicely with the other traffic.

In town this morning I drove steady and relaxed and the clutch was ok.. It is promoted as a city car and, as such, does what it is supposed to do and does it well. Boot's a tad small but it managed to hold a main supermarket shop. It looks quite striking too, resulting in my friend/neiighbour/Toyota owner immediately coming over to have an unashamed drool over it and comment on its 'gorgeous colour'.

Touch 3 is an improvement and very simple to use. I'll deal with those bl--dy irritating chimes in the morning, now they are enough to drive an unsuspecting soul nuts.. Nice surprise touch (pun intended) was the contents of a smart black presentaton box left with the car manual. It contained a quality braided, black coordinating colour multi adaptor lead to connect to stuff to the car's USB C socket.

Sorted.

Re the adaptor. Its a fussy one with loads of adapters. So I purchased a decent short one that fits my phone for charging. Everything else is cordless so its only really for charging as I use the android car play for the Google maps. Glad you like the car, yes it can get a bit noisy at speed. Have fun silencing the onboard health and safety nagging department. I may go in search of the speaker one day and snip a wire off.

I I have plenty of Apple leads that will do but I like the black as it blend in with the black interior.  A cosmetic preference and I'm not going to buy another black one. I set my speed limiter to 1 mile less that road sign indicator and it avoids the beep most times. Or, turn it off in the Multimedia settings under Sounds.Aygo.thumb.png.ac41909a07f83b6340ff00d9ffc0ef81.png

Dont think any of those effect speed warning. Speed warning is on the MFD in the main dashboard.

Agreed, the system beeps referred to in the multimedia unit are the response beeps to touching the screen.

Yes, my dumb mistake. I'll do it the right way like you say. Thanks.

Yes, my mistake, I'll go into the system and sort it properly like Wobbly Spanner says.

The pre-collision system can also make you jump. If you slow to let a car past with a car on your side of the road, it often blares 'BRAKE' at you as it thinks you are about to have a head on collision with the parked car.

I did find it useful once when a pedestrian came out between two cars. It warned and started braking a fraction before I got to the barake pedal. So some systems have merit, but on the whole I find them annoying and intrusive.

I am now well versed in my preflight checks to disable speed warning and lane assist.

Oh yeah, it doesn’t half make you jump. I had the Yaris do an emergency stop. It used to also give a ‘break’ beep and message warning every time i passed a car that parked in the same place every day. Yes, of course, most settings should not be changed as they are there for a good reason.  Love the ‘pre flight checks’ comment. 👍😁

from displaying the fuel economy, it is 2 up, 4 to the left, OK and 2 down.  It is now muscle memory.  Annoyingly the Yaris Cross has the same steering wheel, but different button presses.

LOL I already posted that previously. Correction 4 right 😉

Mind you I never tried going left, so might work!
