I bought a blank OBD plug from eBay and set about making a solar/charge lead for the car utilising the OBD socket under the dash.

This is an experiment following a discussion in another thread.

I used a spare SAE lead and plug for the connection to the charger lead or solar panel lead.

Costs

eBay £4.16 for the OBD plug

Spare SAE lead £0

30w solar panel - already had one, but £65 Amazon

Positive lead soldered to pin 16

Ground soldered to pin 4

I used my new cordless soldering iron from ALDI centre isle £20 - buy one!
