I have had my car one month and still getting used to all the safety features but can't understand why when parking the sensors do what is expected of them until I am two feet away from any object that may be in front ( a wall etc) it makes a shocking noise similar to the car hitting something. The first time I heard it I thought that I had pranged the car, got out to look and nothing. The beeps and the horn sound are to be expected but this is quite shocking. Can I adjust this so that at least the distance when it comes on is closer to the object.

are you sure it did not kick in the auto braking.

Its very abrupt and sounds horrible like a really loud grating, crunching noise, but you do get a message on the screen I think.

That has kicked in on mine a few times, horrendous noise, but actually works, so it doesn't bother me.

That's exactly what it is...

There is a part of the settings where you can adjust it to be less sensitive...

It's the same for me but I make practical use of it as it is almost impossible to actually hit anything when you are reversing into the garage (for example).

You need to disable PKSB (parking support brake). I suffered this when reversing in my tight driveway, sounded horrible, like gears grinding, but actually the anti skid braking resonating.

If you just go really slowly it wont kick in until you're maybe an inch from hitting the thing the sensors are screaming about.

You can turn it off but you're going to feel really stupid if you then dent the bumper reversing into something

How fast were you reversing for ASB to kick in 😂 sheesh

You really don't have to be going very fast - The closer you get to something the slower you have to go, literally need ants walking pace to get to the minimum distance, which is just under an inch or so, before the KRRGRKRKRGRGRGRKKKK of doom!

I think that is the actual way to spell that noise
