Tyre pressure explanation

Can anybody explain this to me?

I was looking for the right pressure for my new tyres and the manual says 2,5bar(36psi) for type A and 2,2bar(32psi) for tyre type B

I have been googling like crazy but haven’t find any explanation for this. How do I know if I A or B is the right one for my tyres?

May relate to the tyre size. Have you checked the tyre pressure sticker on the car (often located inside one of the front door openings)?

Yes I did. On the sticker are the same values as for tyre type A, but what if my tyres are type B?  😆

On the sticker is also exclamation mark pointing you to read user manual 🙂

Could type A be a radial ply tyre, and type B be an older cross ply or bias ply tyre, perhaps?

Not on a 2020 car.

The pic posted at the start has Tyre spelt the US way - Tire
AFAIK, they are still rather fond of using bias ply over there, so maybe the sticker is generic?

Our Turkish built Hyundais (I20's and Bayon) and our 2016 Aygo (never sold in the US) have all had tyre spelt using US English.

Have a look at the following tyre pressure guide from Toyota GB for the pressures for your tyre size:

https://mag.toyota.co.uk/toyota-tyre-pressure-and-size-guide/

In your link it says 2.5 and 2.4 which is the same as on sticker and type A in the manual, so I will stick to this values.

I'm still a bit curious what this B type could be 🙂

I'm from Czech Republic and the manual in my language says the same about the A and B. I just took the picture from some English version because I was lazy to translate it 🙂

The only thing I could find is also US related, and is about the way tyres dissipate heat , A, B or C grades

Tire Temperature Rating: Temperature "A" "B" "C" Tires - Tire Agent

Could that be linked to summer, winter and all seasons?

The temperature ratings on tyres are only used in the US, so won't apply to European market/manufacturer vehicles.
