My Aygo some times wont start

I can go weeks without any trouble with my 2005 semiautomatic Aygo, but now and again i push  the foot brake turn the key and nothing happens and i cant move the gear stick, also the foot brake wont push down, but if i leave the car for an hour  and go back she starts up with know trouble

Hi Dave,This problem might be caused by the brake pedal switch, which senses when the brake is pressed and lets the car start and shift gears. If the switch isn’t working properly, it might cause the car to stay "locked" and not start. Sometimes tapping the brake pedal a few times might help loosen things up.

It could also be related to the gear selector interlock. Semi-automatics often have a mechanism that stops the gear stick from moving unless the brake is pressed. If this interlock is sticking or getting worn, it could temporarily lock up the brakes and the gear shift.

It could also be the ignition switch or starter relay, especially if those parts are starting to wear out. If the problem occurs more frequently, it might be worth having a mechanic take a look at the brake interlock and ignition system.👍
