Always had toyotas, had the auris and advensis over 10 years. Traded in my auris for a kia ceed, and o boy regret it. However my partner needs a car, so iv said habe the ceed so I get get another toyota. Now I'm torn 2 auris cars both 2016 so 9 uears old. Both good history and mot history of course it's a toyota.  Tje one has only 20k which is worrying, the other had 47k which is good in my eyes. The 20k liss is only 1k in proce less, but still 1k is 1 k. Now I'm edging towards tje 46k car as it's been driven etc brakes discs etc would of been done. Now tje other one is it to good to be true..I know you don't have a crystal ball but ????? Help plz thanks

Hi,

well used cars are always very unique and individual. You need to take into account what engine the have to make a better comparison, are they same engines specs conditions etc. You can see both and check them decide. £1000 is not a huge gap, it’s pretty much a new set of tyres and full service.

Thanks iv done more digging, and the 20k car has a new Battery and engine on the pictures looks dirty and a little rust. On the well driven car 47k has original Battery but the engine looks clean and no rust..it's a hard decision..the 20k car has had 2 owners last was in 2017 and tje 47k car has 3 owners last in may 2024..but on the mot history looks like new discs and brakes all around as was advised at 38k 10k ago..

Think I'm just going to bite the bullet and go for the 47k car as I know it's gone through or round the block and warranty issues would of been done.. I'll give it a few more days to ponder

I was looking for an Auris Hybrid estate in 2019 and could of bought 2.

A 2015 with 26,000 miles in blue for £13,500

or a

2017 in silver with 41,000 miles for similar money. Both Icon + or similar. Both full Toyota history and one owner.

Chose the older car as had several silver cars. 5 years later still a good choice. Now on 52,000 miles. In the 5 years done disks and pads all round, New Air con condenser under warranty 6 months after buying and 12 volt Battery during covid.

I myself would look into the 20k one more. Full Toyota History? As 27k more mileage is probably 5 years motoring in my car!

I would view and drive both!

Good luck in your choice!

James

I'd go for 20k, previous owner has held it longer. Its cheaper and lower mileage.

47k car is changing hands far too quick for my liking. Maybe discovered an issue and is passing it on. I also dislike silver, harder to colour match should you ever need to.

Is it manual or cvt? Lower mileage is always better for an auto cvt.

Were the cars traded in to a dealer with a valid reason or bought at auction?

Yes, do drive both.

Yes true, hard decision I'll bite bullet and go with the red. Service was in Oct this year. So I got 1 year with no worries and do 12k a year. Car will be like wtf us going on..

27k km it’s nothing, probably my 6 months drive.
Go with the car that has been better maintained, has less amount of corrosion, go check thoroughly underneath, has parts replaced like new brakes, new Battery, new plugs etc . Just see which one from both is in better technical condition. Red cars , yellow cars are to be avoided especially used ones as first these cars are eye soar to many, second the paint work on these goes bad and lose shiny appearance then start to fade off big time, and in general not everyone tastes, more difficult to shift to if you decide to sell. Low mileage cars aren’t the very best choice unless been stored in ideal conditions in controlled environment garages. The best used cars are those who had been regular used and maintained properly within the manufacturer specs and not been abused. Years, miles or number of owners means nothing.
