Toyota Hiace 3L (2800cc) engine turning on oil light

Hi,

I have bought a 1998 Toyota Hiace with a 3L Engine (2800cc), have changed quite a lot of parts from it as part of a first service but I still have one issue with it. Basically when i start the engine, a few seconds later the oil amber light goes on and as soon as i start driving it switches off again on its own after a few seconds, the previous owner told me that it was like that for years but i would like to get it sorted out. Oil and filters are new so i'm kinda confused what else could be wrong. Photo of the light is attached.

Please let me know.

Regards,

Matthew

oil dilution - oil and filter change should sort it - if it has been changed it may have the wrong oil in it depending on your location/climate

Orange is the oil change light - do you not have an oil change reset button towards the top left of the instrument cluster?

Picture below is 2007 diesel HiAce

The red one is the low oil pressure warning light.

yellow is the oil level/change (must look closer at the pics)

either the level is wrong or the oil change needs a reset
