Hi Thomas,To clean the black enamel wheels without scratching them, you could try a pH-neutral wheel cleaner. Something like Meguiar's Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner or Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus would work well a neighbour has the same type of wheels and he always recommends either of these as they’re both gentle on finishes but still effective at removing dirt.

Just spray it on, let it sit for a minute, then use a soft microfiber cloth or a wheel brush with soft bristles to gently clean the wheels. Rinse everything off well and dry with a microfiber towel to get a nice, scratch-free finish.👍

You need to use jet wash or hose sprayer. Soft mitt and regular car shampoo in bucket.
Start with tfr light mixture with water or pre wash Snow Foam, rinse with water and then hand wash with mitt. Don’t use acids or hard brushes. And don’t let anything dry on them except clean water. Avoid washing under direct sunlight. All that apply for when you wash the whole car.

Careful with a jet wash it is 110 bar pressure and will take paint off if held to close and in one place, I only use a hose pipe on the car or if it's just the wheels I'm cleaning I use one of those pump up sprayers on the wheels to rinse off it's much gentler and no risk of damage.

I use a pressure washer on my whole YC, including the wheels....but, I do have it on a sort of wider fan spray, rather than a finer stronger spray.  I tested it in my fence on the fine strong spray and I actually wrote my name on the fence, so I dread to think what it would do to a cars paintwork!!

After jet washing (with active foam) I spray the wheels with wheel cleaner (not the bleeding type, just the regular shampoo-like one) and then use microfiber brush (something similar to this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cleaning-Detailing-Brushes-Flexible-Microfiber/dp/B08RB5ZSGR/ref=sr_1_16? ). I rinse it very often in the bucket of clean water, even 2-3 times per wheel. Not sure if that's the correct way but works for me - no scratches and it's fairly fast process. The elongated brush allows to access the inner part of the alloy, where there is a lot of grit. For me it's impossible to clean it with just the pressure washer.

For what its worth I use Halfords "Muck Off' from their cycling dept - its often cheaper than the same stuff in the motoring section😉

If you leave them mucky then you wont be able to see if the enamel is scratched or not. 🤪
