Hello new here. I Purchased a corolla from RRG last month, i was checking tyre pressure i noticed the rear arch near bumper curved in a little on closer inspection i noticed body filler on the lip underneath the arch. The dealer never mentioned if it had been in a bump or anything to that effect, what would my course of action be ? Here are some photos. I noticed before the bumper sticking out a little, i thought it just needed popping in correctly.

Hi John.It sounds like you could have a bit of a situation with your Corolla. First, I would recommend documenting the problem by taking clear photos of the area with the body filler and any related problems. This will be help later. Also have a good look around the rest of the car for any signs of damage or filler.

Check your purchase agreement to see if there’s anything mentioned about the car's condition or previous accidents. It’s important to know what you agreed to when buying the vehicle.

Once you have that information, talk to RRG and explain what you’ve found. Be clear but polite, letting them know you’re concerned about the bodywork that wasn't disclosed. If they acknowledge the issue, you can discuss options for getting it repaired or some compensation for the oversight.

If the dealer isn't helpful, it might be worth having a mechanic or body shop take a look to assess the damage and give you an expert opinion. Also, remember that you have consumer rights that protect you in this situation. If things don’t resolve, consider contacting consumer rights or seeking legal advice.

If the dealer doesn’t respond well, you can consider reporting them to consumer protection agencies or taking further action. Just make sure to stay on top of any communication and keep a record of everything in case you need to escalate the issue. Hopefully you won't need to and it can be resolved with your dealer.👍

I may go that route if they start playing up.

It sure has, wonder if the rust perforation guarantee covers that if it rusts through 😵‍💫

Rejecting the car and full refund is what I would do. No doubt about it.

It will be a test for the dealership to see what they can offer you.

Don't forget they might have missed it when they took it in as part exchange.

I will assume they will repair it again and give it back.

If people looked after their cars whilst owning them and didn't get crap repairs done, you wouldn't be in this situation, but what with the cost of everything in the UK right now after committing suicide as a country, more and more people will see their car as their least priority when it comes to maintaining it.  We're seeing an increase at the moment.

When repairing a car before trading in, people will go for the cheapest option possible.

Just a pain in the *****, no doubt its going to take a couple of weeks and then it might rust in a few years.

That’s wrong.
Car should be returned without any further investigation.
Just take your money back asap. More you wait, more trouble you are putting yourself. The reason why it’s not your problem. The car is not up to the quality of an approved used as they says and it’s under 30 days no question return. See advise from Toyota uk Facebook page. Don’t listen to the dealers bs.
