Anyone got a Clino for off-road?

Been having a look for a dash mounted inclinometer. Pitch and roll.

Why? Just anticipating the question... Like the last one I'll be taking the car off road. A few times I've wondered what roll angle I'm at and whether I'm anywhere near tipping.

There are the mechanical ones which are no fuss and cheap (my dad had them on his land rovers in the 70s and 80s) and there's some digital ones which plug into a USB port or come with a cigarette lighter plug. These look interesting as you get an alarm when when you get to a high attitude and have other functions like built in GPS lat long and alt, etc. The fatal flaw seems to be that all the settings are lost on power down meaning you now need to reset the baseline level, clock, and a bunch of other stuff. Why for the sake of a small internal rechargeable Battery.

Here's one which looked useful but seems to have the reset flaw according to a YouTube video review.

AUTOOL X95 GPS Speed Slope Meter, Digital Inclinometer Level & Angle Gauge, Head Up Display Speedometer, Bevel Tilt Gauges with Multifunctional Function for All DC5-28V Cars https://amzn.eu/d/9dYq5lx

Any recommendations and thoughts appreciated ☺️

Sorry Nick, but a piece of string with a small weight attached to the bottom and the other end blue tac’d to the windscreen - I’ll leave now. 😇

Old fashioned but it works. 😂 I think we used to call it a plumb bob.

True but think of the opportunity to give it a flash new name and retire on the proceeds  - no batteries, doesn’t drain the 12v system.
