Tyre pressure: Trust nobody!

Just a reminder to everyone to check and properly adjust your tyre pressures after any kind of garage service.

I checked mine this morning, thinking they must be due a top-up since the last time I did it was before it went in for a service, seven weeks ago and in warmer temperatures. Instead, I found all four tyres over-inflated, even after all that time. I always check my oil level after a service, but never thought about the tyres. I won't forget it again.

Good advice! A while ago, the TPMS light came on, and I thought that was strange. I actually thought I had checked the pressures a couple of weeks before, but it had been over a month since. I’ve now set a reminder on my phone along with the thousand other things I keep forgetting.😂👍

I once decided to service my car at a local family run garage. Two days after the service I noticed oil on my driveway so took my car back. An hour later they said that the oil filter housing was not fitted properly, "but it's all fixed now". I drove off down the road and the oil light came on, so I opened the bonnet and checked the dipstick - guess whaat - NO oil at all! Never went back there again.

Good advice - I have been trusting my Toyota service dept with this, based on them not touching the tyre pressures if the instrument warning light has not activated.  An obvious lapse in concentration which I must rectify.

Especially with the wonderful condition of our roads, it's essential to check tyre pressures regularly. The number of vehicles, esp SUVs, I see with clearly visibly under-inflated tyres is terrifying...!
