my mr2 is the same, although sometimes (especially on a warm dry day it decides to work).

toyota didnt know what it was!

logically, in my, and some mechanic friends' opinions it is probably the actual sensors on the brakes themselves. my mate recommends removing and cleaning (think its some sort of metal - magnetic type sensor), and then they should work.

im gonna have a go one day soon, you could try the same.

good luck

if they are on a bracket you can clean them , but if they go into the actual hub,you cant - dont attempt to remove them , you will break them , they are made of plastic with a metal inner and you will snap them in half if you try to prize them out.

the only way to clean them i'd recommend is with a jet wash ( power wash ).IT MAY BE THE DRIVE SHAFT ENDS NEED CLEANING AND NOT THE SENSOR ITSELF,if the sensors arnt exactly facing the drive shafts knurled wheel they will give errors too.

ON A 1990 CAR I'D CHECK THE WIRING INTO THE MULIPLUGS ARE ALL SOUND AND NOT CORRODED OR SNAPPED.

prices for new ones range from £89 EACH ,for the fronts

and £ 120 to £ 126 each for the rears.

oh forgot thats without the good old VAT , FOR GORDON :thumbsup:
