Hello. How can you tell if a 2022 Corolla is trailer prepared?? I know PFJones do a dedicated electrics kit for post April 2022. Mine being registered in October 2022 ( and I guess part of a fleet!) I was hoping it would be!

Thanks

I've had one fitted about a month back, and far as I know there is two wiring harness's for them, Universal which you splice into the wires and a dedicated harness which has the correct plugs to connect up to the car rear lights wiring , I use it for a towbar bike rack and when reversing the rear sensors go off which I have to cancel on the steering controls

A bit of a update on this which maybe one of you might be interested.

I reversed the car the first time with the bike carrier last Friday and the pre collision brakes activated, now the towbar fitters said press the cancel button on the steering wheel but all that does is mute the bleeper, after a bit of messing about I found that you have to disable the PKSB before you put it into reverse, it will automatically enable when you go into Drive.

Would be nice to hear from someone who has had a Toyota fitted towbar not a third party one and does it automatically disable the PKSB.

Felt a right tool because it was first thing in the morning on the dealers carpark and a few folk on there, with the car moving about 30cm and brakes go on must about 5 minutes before I found the setting I needed to reverse.

As a tip, never EVER use allegedly universal wiring looms for trailer/towing electrics. I have been towing for a number of years having had towers fitted to quite a few cars. I only made that mistake once. If retro fitting towing electrics you will probably also need to take the car to a dealer to have the relevant software updated.

Our 2021 TS has a factory  fitted tow bar fitted and the rear sensors  activate  when reversing, this needs to be deactivated  thru the menu using steering wheel  buttons  but once done so it stays off until it's  turned back on,the yellow symbol  stays on the dash to warn of this.
