Any of you tyre experts out there know what the difference is between the Crossclimate 2 SUV and the Crossclimate 2 SUV S1? And any recommendations? The Michelin website and Google don’t seem to know!

Better Googling needed! 😉 The ATS website claims S1 = "Lowering sound discomfort" but then seems to show then 1 dB noisier and a grade better in fuel economy.

What size are you looking at?

TBH I rather doubt that the difference matters at all!

Thanks. Looking at 235/55/19 105 v or w. Not decided between CC2 or Conti All Season Contact 2. It would have been CC2 all the way but some recent reviews give the new Conti the edge.

I have had Conti’s on mine for almost 40,000 miles. Can’t comment on wear due to punctures, however very pleased with them and wear rates seem very good prior to blow out (pothole in one case and a nail in the other).

I put on CC2 SUV tyres on my similar car ‘21 PHEV. Very pleased with them, handled extremely wet conditions without any issues. (The rain we had more or less within days of fitting them - day after day) I’d say the tyre noise is lower overall and in pitch but probably lost a few miles range on a full charge. Difficult to judge as the temperature has reduced significantly during the same period.

Keep an eye out for Goodyear's new all-season tyre too - I'm not sure if we're getting it in this country and if it'll replace the venerable Vector 4Seasons or not, but they've basically ripped off the Michelin CrossClimate, improved it slightly and called it the Weather Ready 2

Honestly the difference between  the v shaped all season tyres is very minimal. Whatever  you like really will do exact same job and in most cases you will never find a huge difference  between the different brands, the ton of difference is when you compare all seasons vs summer tyres and particularly over snow and ice, mud and sand etc.

Running CC2 SUVs. They're like glue on take off and around corners. Literally the GRS goes around corners like it is on rails. Wet or dry.  Combination of the stiffer suspension on the GRS and the CC2s.

Night and day difference to my 2021 R4P.

But, 4 mpg drop versus stock tyres.

Noise levels seem similar to the stock Bridgestones and the stock Yokohamas before that on the 2021.

largely agree. I had Goodyear Vectors on my Merc simply because they were on a too good to miss deal at the time. When I next need new tyres I will go for whichever of top 3 or 4 best rated all season tyres are the best buy at the time.

You generally can't go wrong with the Premium brands - I also tend to just go with whoever's cheapest out of them

I don’t think I’ve ever deliberated over a purchase so much! In the end I’ve gone for the CC2s purely based on I prefer the “look” of the tread pattern! Anyone would think I was buying a new pair of shoes. Also influenced by the majority of people on here fitting them when the OEM are replaced.

i didn’t go for the S1 version in the end. There were no user reviews so I thought I’d stick to the known consensus. The S1s were also £17 more per corner.

Being fitted this afternoon ready for the forecast snow up North next week.

Don't think you can go wrong with this purchase. They're in the top end of tyres for all seasons. It has been night and day difference for me, dry, wet, muddy, grass. Snow and ice I've not tried yet but the reviews suggest they're better than many winter tyres.

I'm sure that's a good choice - agree the look is nice, which when you're spending so much money is important. The tyre certainly suits the RAV 4, which is a certainty not guaranteed by test results on other vehicles.

Absolutely agree with that. Some of the testing leaves a lot  to be desired in my book.

I’d been looking at tyres for a while as needed to change fronts on my 2021 Excel AWD for first MOT. Crossclimate 2 SUV were looking best bet, and when they had a good deal at Costco I changed all four. Very much agree with comments above about handling and excellent road holding. Another bonus was noticeably quieter than the OE Yokos that I replaced.
