I needs a Security Lock Password

My bZ4x 150kW bought new on 17/02/24 would not start earlier this week.

Yesterday "Broken Down RAC" fitted a new Battery. It now works great.

This morning I could not start it. It needs "Security Lock Password" entered.

It was fitted where I bought it and I did not get the code. Any idea what I can do?

Hi Malcolm, Check the owners manual it could be in there, it may also  have information on resetting if not give the dealer a ring they will probably have it on file.👍

Get it recovered to a Toyota main dealer & let them sort it out under the manufacturers warranty.

Refer to your Multimedia Manual where under Settings > Info & Security it states:

You may or may be able switch the Securitty lock to Off or Reset it. Otherwise, it may be a trip / call to the dealer ...

Why didn't you use Toyota Roadside Assistance in the first place as they would probably be aware of the security password requirement?

Thanks guys. The "Security Lock Password" seems to not let anything be altered on the panel except the code to change it. It seems I will have to go to the Toyota centre tomorrow to ask for there assistance as suggested.

I really appreciate your thoughts.

Its not Toyota its the AA or a local sub-contractor, OP must also have RAC cover

iirc the security lock is only on the touch screen, the dealer can reset it with techstream no issue it should still drive

not 100% with the BZ4x most toyotas will disable the keyless entry and start once the 12v Battery is removed

foot on the brake, place the fob on or near the power button and press the power button ( p 552 of the manual)

Yes, well aware of that, but as Toyota's direct contractor to provide roadside assistance they may be  aware of the requirement.

I'm not sure if this is the same problem that I have experienced after the inevitable flat (dead) Battery. But when this has happened to me a couple of times, at the guess of a Toyota mechanic, I have entered the code 1234 and this has worked!
