My car is back with the dealer so that they can have another go at getting PDI right! 😔

Meanwhile I have their demonstrator. I've had this car for a couple of decent outings before and fully expected to have to drive as Guest and tick the boxes etc. - no real problem. But it never gets that far. When I press start the multimedia appears to power up, display the Toyota logo - I believe that it does this as it boots - and then goes dark as if it has been powered-off. And repeats the sequence ad infinitum. I've left it for 20-30 minutes just in case it was completing an update or something but no change.

It's not a real problem for me. PVM works - there's nothing wrong with the screen. Hopefully, I'll get my car back by the middle of next week and they can then sort out the problem with theirs, but it's an amusing problem.  Any ideas?

Hi Philip,If the demonstrator is brand new, the issue could be down to a software glitch. Even new cars can sometimes have a few bugs, especially with more complex infotainment systems. It’s possible the system hasn’t fully settled in or there’s a configuration issue that needs sorting. Since it’s a new car, it’s probably a simple software problem that the dealer can fix easily, likely with a reset or update. It’s not uncommon for new models to have minor hiccups.👍

It's not brand new. I've played with it a couple of times in September and October and it worked just fine then. It's also the sales manager's car and I suspect that he'd have noticed it not working and got it fixed!

I just wondered whether any bZ4X owners had observed this behaviour at all?

I handed the car back this morning and made sure that the Sales Manager was aware of the problem - since he is probably driving the car home tonight! His assumption was that it was a failed OTA update - he'd seen the behaviour before and would pop the car into the workshop for them to connect up and resolve!

Not my problem anymore, but a little worrying that such things can happen ...
