PHEV conundrum with fuel type grading (E5 or E10)

There is some discussion on a  Facebook Toyota CHR 2024 forum relating to deterioration of the petrol in PHEV vehicle's tank. Now I visit a petrol station rarely as I rely on Battery power from overnight charging at home. So since I acquired my CHR PHEV in early August the last time I filled up was mid September and currently the car is till half full.

Now we all know that petrol left for a long time in your vehicle degrades unless its replaced on a fairly regular basis. Now the current advice is to stick with E5 fuel not E10 as E5 lasts longer while in storage. Any comments gratefully accepted.

I've read between 3-6 months for E10 to degrade, E5 would degrade just not as fast.

I tend to fill with E10, adding ARCHOIL6400-P which I've been using for several years.

You can of course keep topping up the fuel, if you go longer than a month to refuel to help freshen it.

Never dropped below E5. But it is personal choice.

I did watch this video earlier today as i was thinking about the E5/10 fuels 😂 its more about which one is right but he discusses the ethanol levels.

I tend to ignore the blah blah blah and try it.

E10 just doesn't float my boat

I left a comment on the video (I follow Richard) and it attracted a lot of mainly positive comments eg E5 for long journeys E10 for everyday pottering about

I'd prefer to go E5 all the time, the missus usually grumbles about the cost. I've tried explaining its better for the engine. Considering she's been driving longer than me, she has no clue about what they mean except for price.
