Auris hybrid touring sports - headlights point left, fix?

Hello all,

I have a Auris hybrid touring sports, 2017 year. The headlights point too much to the left - to the oncoming traffic lane (Im in Finland, so drive on the right side). I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this? If I understood correctly, there should be two gearwheel typed things that one could turn, up/down and left/right. Where might they be?? See picture, are they accessible from the top view or buried deep inside the front? Should I even attempt this myself? Going to a repair shop costs a good penny. Thanks.

I believe you can only adjust beam vertically. Thats done using a 6mm allen key, entry hole marked in red.

There should be no need to adjust horizontally if mounted corrrectly and mounting frame is straight.

Does the left plastic bracket look repaired? Circled in yellow? Compare plastic fixings left with right for any tampered repairs.

I think the gear ring for adjustment is through this hole 🕳 here marked with yellow.

I think after taking a look at them, Id say... no. They seem quite similar to me, but not 100% sure, Im "new" to cars, as in I bought the car around 3 months ago and have been studying car related stuff a bit more lately, and before this not at all. And now I must say that yesterday I parked the car against a light wall at night, and must say that the lights probably are straight, but the right one is quite crappy and thus looks like it would be tilted to the left all in all, due to the right one not being as bright as the left one. Shoulda taken a pic, but didnt.

Here are some pics from both sides.

The normal lights are quite crappy imo. Ill look into polishing the fronts and see if it could help. There is not an awful a lot of smog in them, but some. Not seen in the pic is the long lights attachment, a led panel just below the bottom of the last image. The long lights are powerful as heck and show everything on a dark road, but cant use them in normal traffic obviously.

Do either of you guys have experience with replacing the normal lights to more powerful ones?

Your light fittings look good and original. No need to polish and doubt will help. The headlamps are a poor projector design with a 50% shutoff blind when dipped. As you can see from other similar discussion topics.

It may be worth checking your bulbs are seated/clipped in correctly on the poor side and both are similar brands.

I assume those other lower led lights are the fog lights.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah after looking around for Auris' headlight topics and YT videos, there seem to be a few people saying that their lights arent that good either. There are Philips XTremeVision Pro150 HIR2 bulbs at a store near me. I was thinking of buying those and see how they would improve the lights. I agree the short/long lights on the same bulb etc is kinda !Removed! design. Previous owner already fitted the led panel for the long lights, he got bored of bad vision too I guess haha.

Ok, i think your previous owner fitted an aftermarket led light bar across the front bottom.

Does it help? Is it road/mot legal? Do include a pic if you can showing where its fitted on the Auris.
