Change Speedo Plate To Mph

JUST BOUGHT '94 LUCIDA 2.2TD AUTO, GOT THE CONVERSION SPEEDO PLATE TO CHANGE TO M.P.H.

CAN AYONE TELL ME HOW TO GET AT THE SPEEDO BEFORE I TAKE A CHISEL TO THE DASHBOARD??

THOUGHT I BETTER ASK AS I'M SURE SOMEONE OUT THERE HAS DONE THIS BEFORE.

Well speaking from bitter experience you will find or will have to find all the nicely hidden screws, on mine they were even inside the heater vents too ( I have a Hiace by the way) then on mine you gently prise the top edge of the fascia out above the instrument pod, it should then all follow, it is defintely better to do on a nice warm day.

Just done a '95 estima. The secret is to drag the fascia away from the driver's side first. If you start on the passengers side it won't move, but it just pops out from the drivers side.

Ping off the heater control cover, this will reveal 2 screws undo these then pull off the dash, you need both doors open. then you have 4 screws to undo to remove the dash. there are 3 electrical plugs to remove. undo the speedo fascia, very gently pride off the needle. then change the speedo fascias. plug in the dash and turn on the ignition, this will zero the speedo then replace the needle on the 0mph. turn off remove the plugs rebuild the dash and the ret is the reverse of disasembly
