My Dealer's calls going to Spam by Google

I was wondering if anyone else has the issue that I came across today and has happened before.

My car was at my local Toyota Dealer and when it was finished they called my number 3 times and it went directly into Spam, courtesy of Google (I have a Google Pixel 8), when going directly to spam, they also cannot leave a voice message.

I know how this works, before anyone says it, I have put they MAIN toyota number in my address book, but EVERY member of the Toyota staff have their own direct number and if they dial from that, its not in my address book, so is being treated as spam.  If it was a urgent call for work to be done, it would have been a total mess !!

I raised this with the dealer and said, you still could have used my email address rather than just giving up ?  They really did not get it at all.  I worked out myself that they had finished the work, because I got notifications about doors being open etc when they were working on the car,  so once I saw that all the doors were locked for over 30 mins, I guessed they had finished and took my usual 45 minute walk (in the rain) to collect the car.

So unless I get EVERYONES direct numbers and put them all in my address book, this will happen again !!  I'm not prepared to do that !!

Is it just me ?

You either need to turn off the spam protection or get into the settings to allow it to filter differently. From a quick Google it looks like the latter can get involved.

The exact options, etc, vary so you need to Google it for your specific phone - 8, 8a or 8pro.

Yep, I guessed that.  I'm certainly not turning off Spam protection, because it actually is pretty good and it cuts out LOADS of spam.  The downside is issues like I am currently having.

As you say, I'll do a bit of Google Research digging 👍

Fair enough. You need to investigate the filtering options within it then - it looked to me that you may be able to allow some calls to be logged or use voicemail.
