2020 RAV4 Boot Lid Open/Close Issues

Has anyone experienced issues with the electronic boot open/close mechanism?

The issues are intermittent. The boot will open electronically via the keyfob, button in the car, or button on the boot door, but then when trying to close, I get a double beep and no movement. I have to nudge the boot lid up and then retry a button to get it to close.

The other issue is that when I press a button, the boot opens about 2 inches, and then I get a long, loud beep with no motion. What's that all about?

Any suggestions or known fixes are welcome. Thank you.

My 2023 PHEV sometimes does the latter trick. Second push closes it, third push fully opens it. I am not really sure if it's a fault or not. I will report the issue at the next service though so it's on record.
